Introduction
Owls Ickford Pre-School is a thriving group, which caters for young children in Ickford. The Pre-school offers children the opportunity to learn through play in a stimulating and nurturing environment. Ickford Pre-School is run by a parent management committee which is very active and is responsive to the needs of the community. It meets five mornings a week in Ickford School hall. Ickford Pre-school is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance, registered with the Charity Commission (No. 1036452) and registered annually with OFSTED. There are very strong links with the Gym Club, School and Church in the village.

The Pre-school has also extended its provision to include an AFTER SCHOOL CLUB for the children of Ickford Combined School.

Welcome
Welcome to Ickford Pre-school. We aim to provide a safe and happy environment for your child to play, and the children are encouraged to learn through the things that they choose to do.

It is our intention to make our Pre-school genuinely accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community.

We welcome the involvement of as many parents and carers as possible. If you have a particular skill which you feel may benefit the Pre-school, please feel free to contact us.

We hope that your time with us will be enjoyable and fruitful for both your child and you.

Ickford Pre-School
Our Pre-school offers education and care for children below school age and over the age of two and a half.
Staff
The regular staff in the group are:

  Meryl Munson Pre-school Supervisor
  Helen Cashman Pre-school Deputy
  Vanessa Walters Pre-school Assistant

All staff are OFSTED and CRB checked.
Curriculum
This period is an important time in your child's life, as they will be developing in many ways. At Pre-school we can help that process by providing activities that are not always readily available at home. We aim to provide a setting where your child will learn to share, to become more independent and to develop self-confidence, all of which will help them settle at school.
Fees
We have Government funding for 3-year and 4-year old children. Fees for 2 year olds and for non-funded 3-4 year old children are £6.00 per session.
Committee
The Pre-school is run by an elected Committee which ensures that major decision making is in the hands of the parents who use the group. The Committee is responsible for reviewing both policy and practice, and for the employment and appraisal of members of staff. The Chairman is currently Val Strange.

The above is designed to give basic information about the Pre-school. Full details are included in our Policy & Procedures Document - a copy of which is available at every session. For further information about Ickford Pre-School, please do not hesitate to contact us via the Buckinghamshire Children's Information Service.
